My Love/Hate Relationship with Pinterest
I love Pinterest. And, I hate Pinterest, too.
Most of the time, I think that Pinterest is awesome. Not only is it a great place to find great new ideas and inspiration, but it allows us to categorize and organize all of our wish lists (or, in my case, fanatical dreams), projects and ideas that I wanna remember for later. And it does beat saving piles and piles of magazines with ripped out pages that I store in binders that are piled up in my guest room – don’t even try to tell me that you don’t do this, too.
But, my biggest problem with Pinterest is that it’s ADDICTIVE!! So, here’s my story. Yesterday afternoon I started a project updating my Pinterest boards and adding recent CeCe Calwell’s Paint projects that I completed to share with others. AT 2AM LAST NIGHT (or, technically early this morning) I WAS STILL ON PINTEREST!!! Now, this in of itself, is not the end of the world except … I could do this every night! But, I can’t! And I was forced to come to the realization that Pinterest is never-ending …. therefore, I can never make a project out of it because it doesn’t have an end date.
Anyway, I am not going to burden you with my psychological internet dependency problems (which, at some point, will probably require lots of time and money for therapy). Instead, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite Pinterest pages and boards that focus on CeCe Caldwell paint projects so that you can spend endless hours online with me now and join me for therapy later 🙂

Trust me. These are only a handful of CeCe Caldwell paint pages and boards. If you do a search in Pinterest for CeCe Caldwell, you will find soooo much more.
Happy Pinning!! …. and I’ll see you in therapy 🙂
Wanna Have Fun?? Mix Up Some Paint Colors!
Last week I came across a vanity stool and I absolutely loved the style of the stool and the fabric (which was in excellent condition). But the wood of the stool really left a lot to be desired. So, guess what I did?? I know … you’ll never guess … I decided to paint it!
The problem was that in my mind I made up a color that I wanted to paint the stool to match some of the green in the fabric and highlight the maroon. Now, in my CeCe Caldwell’s paint pallet this color does not exist. So, guess what I did?? I mixed paint! Yes, you can mix CeCe Caldwell paint colors to make your own fantastic colors and have an endless choice of colors to work with. This makes me very happy 🙂
Sooooo, how do I know what colors to mix to come up with the color that I want? Well, to be honest, I don’t always know. So, guess what I did?? I reached out to my sister CeCe Caldwell retailers and our wonderful CeCe community boards and I asked: “How can I get a sort of medium olive color by mixing CeCe paint?” And the wonderful Rhonda Dykes of Shabby but Chic (check her out … she does awesome stuff!) responded to me immediately and suggested that I mix equal parts of Cinco Bayou Moss and Spring Hill Green. It was the perfect solution. Check out my before & after photo below.

Meet Tom Tom
We seem to have a rash of stray and feral cats in the neighborhood these days and one of them – I named him Tom Tom – has taken a liking to my store. Every afternoon he wanders in … takes a look around … and leaves. Yesterday, he decided to hang out for a while on my store front step.
Tom Tom is definitely a stray. I can pet him and we are guilty of feeding him once in a while (yeah …. I know …. no wonder he comes back), but I worry for him for the winter, so I’m gonna have to figure out what some options are. And, NO … he cannot become a store cat. I have enough dust bunnies without adding cat hair into the mix.
Great Before & After – Myrtle Beach Sand
One of my regular customers – Noreen – has done another fantastic job on this table using Myrtle Beach Sand. She told me that just might be her new favorite color. Great job, Noreen!!

Giveaway ~ $25 Gift Certificate to Bubba’s!
Shout out to another great bar/restaurant addition to Fishtown … Bubba’s Texas BBQ!
In the past year, Fishtown has been exploding with fantastic new additions to the bar/restaurant and small business scene and I especially love this because I can walk to all of them (and then sometimes stumble home!). Through our strong civic and business associations – shout out to New Kensington Community Development Center (NKCDC), Fishtown Area Business Association (FABA) and Frankford Avenue Arts – Keys to the Attic has had the opportunity to network and get to know most of the other small businesses in the neighborhood.
In the past few months, we’ve developed a “lucky streak” and have managed to accumulate a stack of gift certificates to a lot of these fine establishments … and we’re gonna pass the luck on to you! So, every other Tuesday (until the certificates run out) we’re gonna be giving away a gift certificate to one of our local small businesses so you can try them out and, hopefully, become as big a fan as we are.
So, on that note, I’d love to introduce you to Bubba’s Texas BBQ. I met the owner, Stacy, at one of our FABA meetings and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this girl is a whirlwind of energy! She totally inspires me (and then I have take a nap cause I get all tuckered out) and is surrounded by tons of positive energy. You’ll also find Ivan, the manager, at the restaurant and he is totally awesome, too. We love to sit and catch up about all of the neighborhood changes over a few cold ones. (P.S. They have free air conditioning, too!)
To win the $25 gift certificate, all you have to do is Like both of our facebook sites. That’s all. Pass this around to all of your friends and maybe they’ll win and take you out to dinner!
