Candlesmith’s (by Homestead Furnishings & Gifts – Located outside of Lancaster)

Another addition is candles by Robin and Jeff at  The Candlesmith’s – located “down the road” outside of Lancaster.  If you were a fan of the Americana Vintage candles, you will be just as pleased with these.  Robin and Jeff make a variety of cake and pillar candles lined with herbs, spices, and frosts.  An addition, we sell the very popular “floating star” candles that are a festive addition to any holiday table or home decor.

Yep.  We’re getting hit with an excessive heatwave and I am melting like the Wicked Witch of the West (and, yeah, it’s making me “witchy bitchy”).  Therefore, Keys to the Attic will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, July 19th.  We’ll catch ya all on Wednesday when – hopefully – the temps come down.  Stay cool!!

Meet Miss Abigail!!

www.KeystotheAttic.com

Catherine and Abigail

We are so excited to introduce you to Abigail, the newest addition to Keys to the Attic.  Abigail just moved into Fishtown, and she and I both come from Adams County located in South Central Pennsylvania.

For those of you who don’t know, Adams County is the exact opposite of Philadelphia.  Outside of Gettysburg, the area is total country and farm land – corn fields, orchards, horses, cows, goats, sheep, chickens … you get it.

Every now and then, when I get a little “city’ed out”, I head home and stay at my second home, The Altland House.  This is where Abigail and I met.  She worked there as a server and bartender.  We quickly became the closest of friends.  When I was home last October, Abigail told me that she wanted to move to Philadelphia.  She also told me that one of her former roommates lives here.  When I asked her where Paige lives, Abigail said East Girard Avenue.  What???  As it ends up, Paige lives one block away from Keys to the Attic!!  What are the chances of that?

To make a long story short, Abigail has since moved here and is now my neighbor.  This is a win-win-win for everyone.  She is now helping me out with the store and my life, and I absolutely adore her.  My favorite story to tell everyone (and this is no exaggeration) is that Abigail and I had the same teacher in high school (Gardy Lawrence) … I just had him exactly 25 years before she did!

So, next time you’re in Fishtown, please stop by Keys to the Attic and meet Abigail!

Today is the Day! Stock is in the “Hood”!!

Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for!  Stock is opening up tonight and bringing a new flavor and flair to Fishtown.  Come on over and check them out.  The restaurant is lovely, the owners are awesome and I was lucky enough to pre-taste some of their dishes last week and I can say … you will be thrilled.  Welcome to the neighborhood! Here’s some of their write ups in our local media:

I meant to put this up a month ago, but better late than never.  Keys to the Attic is a supporter of the Kensington Community Food Co-Op (KCFC) and as a supporter we offer a 15% discount on our delicious Americana Vintage candles to all KCFC members.  We were thrilled to be asked to be one of the local businesses to participate in their “Catch the Carrot” campaign and were the first local business to have our “carrot caught”.

Check out the nice article about us that they posted on their blog:  http://www.kcfc.coop/shop_local_spotlight_keys_to_the_attic
